FAQs

Can a foreign company own 100% of an Indian subsidiary?

In most sectors yes, under the automatic route. Some sectors have caps or require government approval, so the sector is the first thing to check.

What is FC-GPR and when is it due?

It is the RBI report of shares issued to a non-resident, filed through the FIRMS portal within thirty days of allotment. Missing it attracts a late submission fee.

Do foreign directors need to travel to India?

No. Documents are apostilled or consularised in the home country, and video KYC is done remotely.
